Emergency Bedside Kit

Master of Disaster - hazards Prepared BC via Compfight

Hello Everyone, Today I will be talking about some types of disasters but mostly earthquakes and what you need for a bedside kit. Here are some disasters: earthquakes, avalanches and landslides, floods, tsunamis, tornados, wildfires, severe weather, long power outages, hazordious material spills and disease outbreaks.

Where we live, here in the Comox Valley there are many earth quakes, but most of them are really small. These are 10 things you should have for an earthquake emergency bedside kit,

  1. A working flashlight
  2. At least 2 water bottles
  3. At least 3 snacks for example, granola bars
  4. Extra Batteries
  5. Bandaids, many sizes
  6. Rubbing alcohol
  7. Dust masks
  8. Cheap cv radio
  9.  Not to expensive shoes
  10. Multi tool

There you go, a bedside earthquake kit.

Hockey

Hello readers,

Today I will be talking about one of my hobbies, hockey. I have been playing hockey for 8 years now, my favorite position is center or right wing. Our team name is the “Panthers” and our colours are black with red shoulder’s. My favorite thing about hockey is that it’s a canadian sport and it’s lots of fun, sometimes we get to go to tournaments in other places. We go to places like Port Alberni, Campbell river and sometimes Victoria, it’s fun staying in hotels too. We where lots of gear when we play hockey, my favorite brand of gear is Bauer, all my gear is Bauer except for my chest protector, elbow pads and stick. I don’t know what brand my chest protector is, my elbow pads are Jofa’s and my stick is Reebok. My favorite NHL team is the Montreal Canadiens aka the Habs, I have a sweet Montreal Canadiens hat that I where all the time. My favorite player on the Habs is Carey Price, he is the goalie and he got an award for best goalie in the world! If you don’t know what the Habs logo looks like it’s the one you see below.

Hi everybody,

Home to me is Newfoundland, seeing my grandparents and cousins and aunts and uncles, big family dinners and being on the farm, seeing the sheep, llama and other animals. Home is camping, campfires and making s’mores and home is Christmas, having family over and shredding the snow capped mountain. In the summer home is on the water, skimboarding, stand up paddle boarding and fishing in our boat, boating to tree island and even tribune bay! Going to Kelowna in the summer and seeing my grandma, and seeing where my dad grew up, and going to the okanagan lake.

Comment what home is to you, thanks for reading and come back soon to see more post on my blog!

Scootering

fullsizerender

(Photographer: Me, that’s my scooter)

Hi readers,

This is my first post that I get to choose the topic of, so today I will be talking about scootering. I have been scootering for a year now. I have learned many tricks over the year. I can do a… Barspin, tailwhip, 360, heelwhip and double tailwhip. My best trick is a fingerwhip which is when you take your feet off the deck, pull it up and spin the deck with your fingers and land with your feet back on the deck.

I scooter with my friend Lane, he is pretty good at scootering too considering he has only been  scootering for about a month now. His best trick is a tailwhip.

It all started one day after school. Lane,my other scooter friends and I were outside. I had my scooter and I let Lane try a tailwhip on the flat ground. He was really close, so I said, “Hey we should go to the skatepark and Lane can try a tailwhip off a ramp.”

So we went to the skatepark. It took a bit of time but eventually Lane landed it and he realised he liked scootering.

I got a Lucky Crew scooter (the one you see below)for my 11th birthday, Lucky is my favorite brand. I also like other brands like District, Ethic, Apex, Envy, North and Havoc. My favorite rider/riders are the Funk Brothers who are really good at scootering and they make cool vlogs. Their names are Capron and Corey, Capron is the older brother Corey is the younger one and they are sponsored by Apex.

Some other riders that are awesome are… JonMarco Gaydos, Cody Flom and Tanner Fox who are all sponsored by Lucky scooters.

Well, there you go, all the things about me and scootering! Thanks for reading and see you next post!
